I am originally from out West – I grew up on the dry side of the state of Washington and, like Gary Cooper in the old movies, I like to say “yep” and “nope” and only what else is necessary. If you don’t have something important to say, why talk?
In a past life I was an anthropologist/archaeologist who taught in universities from California to here in Michigan. You impressed by initials? I have a B.A., an M.A. and would have completed a Ph.D. if there hadn’t been quite so much B.S. involved.
In another past life I was farmer; I raised both livestock and fruit crops. The grapes I grew, besides being included in Welch’s jams and jellies, found their way into casks in my basement to be converted into a reasonably tasty red wine.
In yet another incarnation, beginning about twenty years ago, I became a Realtor here in the quaint village of South Haven. If you saw the movie, “American Beauty” and the dedication and drive that Annette Benning’s character exhibited—well, that’s not like me at all. I have experience, skill, patience and not much of a need to fulfill my own agenda. I can unselfishly look after a client’s interests, but I do prefer win-win situations. I have worked extensively with boat slip sales and leasing, and the listing and sales of homes (from modest to million dollar plus), condominiums, building lots and commercial properties.

Given all this, you might think that I would be pretty puffed up with my own importance, but in spite of all my accomplishments, I remain an extremely humble person. I imagine that that if a ranking of the most humble people who ever lived were established, at the top there would be Jesus, Mahatma Gandhi and yours truly (but not necessarily in that order).

Grew -up in Sturgis Michigan and worked in the manufacturing of metal finishing equipment. Married in 1997 and relocated to South Haven.
I started sailing out of South Haven in 1983 and found that this was my type of community. I finally was able to make the move in 1997.
I am a professional photographer and have been published in several magazines and brochures.
I completed the training for being a real estate sales person in 2006 and joined the Shores team in December of 2006.
